The name of Vladimir Kuznetsov is inscribed in golden letters in the history of Ossetia and the Ossetian people, President Alan Gagloev noted in his telegram of condolences to the family and friends of the famous archaeologist in connection with his death.
Archaeologist, specialist in ancient Alan culture and medieval history of the Caucasus, Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kuznetsov, passed away on Sunday at the age of 97. He will be buried on the Walk of Fame in Krasnogvardeisky Park (on Kosta Avenue) in Vladikavkaz on Tuesday.
The leader of South Ossetia has noted that all the conscious life of a truly legendary person is connected with research in the field of archeology and history.
“Vladimir Alexandrovich’s books will remain with us, revealing the secrets of the centuries-old history of the peoples of the Caucasus,” the telegram published on the President’s official website, reads.
The Head of State has added that the South Ossetian public is grieving together with the scientist's family and friends, sharing the pain and bitterness of the irreparable loss.
